Module 1: Trauma Informed Management and Leadership

Module 1 of the SPT Hub Modular Management Programme This module introduces the principles of trauma-informed management and leadership within health and social care settings. Participants will explore how trauma can affect behaviour, communication, relationships and workplace wellbeing, and how managers can respond with empathy, consistency and professional awareness. The module focuses on creating psychologically safe teams, building trust, supporting staff wellbeing and developing organisational practices that avoid re-traumatisation. Participants will also consider how leadership style, communication and workplace culture influence staff and service-user outcomes. Supported by a practical workbook containing theory, resources and activities, this module helps managers apply trauma-informed approaches to their everyday leadership practice.
